bunq Referral Program Spain: Rewards, Limits & Invite Rules (2026)

bunq uses several in-app referral rewards rather than one fixed referral bonus. Home, Cards, Savings, Stocks and ZeroFX can show different invitations. You choose the reward first, then invite a friend by mobile number; bunq sends the SMS. The reward and qualifying action attached to that tab control the referral.

Current official help shows rewards such as a free Personalized Card after a single €50 bunq card payment, Bonus Interest after a qualifying Savings deposit held for the required period, months of free Stock Trading after setting up AutoInvest, and up to 100 Wheel of Fortune spins after an eligible bar or restaurant card payment. Amounts and availability can vary. The up-to-€100 Switch Service cash reward is specifically restricted to qualifying friends in the Netherlands, so it should not be presented as a Spanish cash bonus.

Yes, bunq currently supports multiple referral rewards in Spain. However, not every reward is available in every country: for example the Switch Service reward of up to €100 requires the friend to live in the Netherlands and have a Dutch IBAN. Always use the live offer shown in the app for a Spanish account.

bunq does not publish one end date for the whole referral system. It states that rewards can be updated or replaced and that the exact active referral conditions are shown in the app. An older screenshot or article may therefore describe a reward that has already changed.

The friend must first complete signup, verification and the qualifying action. bunq then surfaces the reward under Action Needed for claiming. Timing depends on the reward: some benefits are claimable after the qualifying action, while Bonus Interest can have a required holding period.

• Invitations are sent to a mobile number by SMS; bunq says you cannot currently generate a normal email or direct-link invitation yourself.
• The friend must finish signup through the invitation and use the invited phone number; verification is required.
• You can send up to five invitations per calendar month, one per reward/tab.
• Rewards vary by user, market, campaign and time; the app is the final source for the reward amount and requirements.
• The old free Metal Card referral reward ended on July 15, 2026; the Cards referral now uses a free Personalized Card for eligible plans.
• The Personalized Card reward requires bunq Core, Pro or Elite and is not available on bunq Free; the friend must make one card payment of at least €50.
• The up-to-€100 Switch Service reward is Netherlands-only and should not be confused with Spain availability.
• If the SMS never arrives, bunq recommends checking the phone number and SMS filters; the friend can also install bunq and register with the same invited number so the referral remains linked.

It can be useful when the selected reward matches something both people already want, but bunq referrals are more complex than a fixed cash bonus. Check the exact reward, plan requirement and qualifying action before inviting someone, especially in Spain where some headline rewards from other markets do not apply.
