Dropbox Referral Program 2026: Earn Up to 16–32 GB of Free Space

Dropbox rewards eligible personal account holders who introduce new users. Unlike cash-back programmes, its incentive is extra cloud storage. You can use that space for files and backups within your plan's limits.

Dropbox Basic inviters receive 500 MB per successful referral, capped at 16 GB earned through referrals. Dropbox Plus, Family and Professional inviters receive 1 GB per success, capped at 32 GB. The new user receives 500 MB regardless of the inviter's plan.

Sign in at dropbox.com, open your avatar, choose Settings and then Refer a friend. Copy your personal invitation link or send an email invitation. Share the actual referral link before your friend creates their account.

Your friend must accept the invitation, create a new Dropbox account, install the Dropbox desktop or mobile application, sign in through that application and verify their email address. Merely opening the invitation or creating an account is insufficient.

In Dropbox Settings, open Refer a friend and inspect the referrals table. The status may show invited, waiting for installation, waiting for email verification, completed or ineligible. Only completed referrals earn storage.

Dropbox team accounts cannot send referrals. An existing Dropbox account is not a qualifying new referral. Dropbox may mark an attempt ineligible if the new user registers on the same computer as the inviter. Sharing a folder does not count as a referral, and only the invitation link used for signup receives credit.

Dropbox publishes these referral rules in its current help centre without a fixed programme end date. Availability is account-dependent and subject to Dropbox's terms; verify the referral option in your settings before promoting an invitation. No cash conversion is advertised.

Extra storage is useful if you already use Dropbox and your friends genuinely need a cloud account. It is not a reason to purchase an expensive subscription solely for referral rewards. Consider storage limits and privacy settings before inviting anyone.
