Terms of Service
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. The service
ReferTree provides a personal page (your ReferTree) where you can publish referral links and referral codes for third-party services, plus analytics and discovery features around them. ReferTree is independent and is not affiliated with the services listed by users.
2. Your responsibilities
You must only publish referral links and codes that you legitimately own, and describe rewards accurately. Misleading reward descriptions, spam, fraudulent referrals, or attempts to manipulate click tracking may lead to account suspension. Rewards shown on profiles are set by profile owners; ReferTree does not guarantee any reward.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use ReferTree to distribute malware, phishing links, or illegal content. Only http(s) URLs are accepted, and all published URLs are validated. Automated clicking, bot traffic and other abuse of the tracking system is prohibited.
4. Content and availability
You retain ownership of your content. You grant ReferTree a license to display it on your public profile. The service is provided as is without warranties; we aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
5. Termination
You may stop using ReferTree at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. Upon deletion of your account, your public profile and referrals are removed.
6. Explore referrals and default community sharing
By creating an account, you agree that referrals you later publish are eligible by default to appear in Explore referrals, ReferTree's community discovery area for registered members, unless you disable this for all referrals or for an individual referral in My referrals. While Explore visibility remains enabled, you authorize ReferTree to display and make the relevant referral discoverable within that feature. You can change these settings at any time. Turning off Explore visibility only removes the referral from Explore referrals; it does not remove it from your public profile or deactivate the referral itself.
7. User-submitted referral links and third-party content
Referral links, codes, reward descriptions and related content are submitted by ReferTree users. ReferTree does not create, own, operate or control the third-party websites, apps, products, services, referral programs or transactions reached through those links. The user who publishes a referral is responsible for ensuring that it is lawful, accurate, not misleading, and permitted by the relevant third party's rules. Some referral programs are intended only for private, personal or invited sharing and may prohibit or restrict public posting, community discovery, marketplace listing, paid promotion, bulk distribution or sharing with people the referrer does not know. Before publishing on ReferTree or leaving a referral visible in Explore referrals, you must determine whether that form of sharing is permitted under the applicable program terms and policies. You publish and share at your own risk. ReferTree does not monitor or interpret every third party's program rules and does not guarantee that a particular form of sharing is permitted, that a referral program exists, that its terms have not changed, that a reward will be paid, or that any user is entitled to offer or receive a stated reward. A third party may reject, withhold, reverse or claw back rewards, restrict, suspend or terminate an account, or take other action under its rules.
8. Domain checks, trust signals and verification
ReferTree may perform automated or manual checks, including comparing a submitted URL's hostname with domains recorded for a selected company, and may display trust, verification, domain-match or similar indicators. Every such check or indicator is limited to the specific attribute and time checked. It is not a security audit, malware scan, identity verification, endorsement, warranty, certification, confirmation of an offer, or guarantee that a link, company, user, destination or transaction is legitimate or safe. A domain may later be compromised, redirected, transferred or have its content changed. A successful domain match does not mean ReferTree has reviewed the full URL, path, query parameters, redirect chain, page content or subsequent destination. Users must make their own assessment before opening a link or providing money, credentials, personal data or digital assets.
9. No endorsement, agency or participation in third-party transactions
Listing a company, displaying its name or logo, showing a referral, ranking content, featuring content in discovery, or performing a technical check does not mean that ReferTree endorses, sponsors, represents or is affiliated with that company or user unless ReferTree expressly says otherwise. ReferTree is not a party to agreements, purchases, investments, transfers, deposits, withdrawals, account openings, reward arrangements or other transactions between users and third parties. Any transaction takes place directly between the relevant parties and is governed by the third party's own terms and policies.
10. Financial, investment and crypto-related links
ReferTree is not a bank, broker, investment firm, crypto-asset service provider, financial adviser, payment provider or fiduciary, and content on ReferTree is not financial, investment, legal, tax or other professional advice. Referral links may lead to services involving money, securities, investments, crypto-assets or other products capable of significant or total loss. You are solely responsible for evaluating those risks, the destination, applicable rules and the legitimacy of any offer before acting. Never send funds, crypto-assets, recovery phrases, private keys, passwords or other sensitive credentials merely because a link appears on ReferTree or carries a trust-related indicator.
11. Prohibited use and account responsibility
You must not use ReferTree to facilitate fraud, phishing, impersonation, malware, credential theft, deceptive schemes, unlawful financial activity, infringement, harassment, spam, manipulation of analytics, circumvention of security controls or any other illegal or harmful activity. You must not disguise a destination or intentionally associate a referral with the wrong company. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. If you believe your account or a published referral has been compromised, you should stop using the affected credentials or link and contact ReferTree promptly.
12. Reporting suspected illegal, fraudulent or harmful content
If you believe a referral or other content on ReferTree is illegal, fraudulent, malicious, infringing or otherwise harmful, please report it promptly to hello@refertree.io. A useful report should identify the relevant ReferTree profile or referral, the destination URL where possible, explain the concern, provide any supporting information reasonably available, and include a contact email. ReferTree may request additional information where needed to assess a report. Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular outcome, but ReferTree may restrict access while a matter is reviewed.
13. Moderation, removal and cooperation
ReferTree may, where permitted by law, investigate, restrict visibility, disable, remove or preserve records relating to content or accounts that reasonably appear to violate these Terms, present a security risk, infringe rights, mislead users or violate applicable law. ReferTree may also act in response to sufficiently substantiated notices or valid orders from competent authorities. We do not undertake to continuously monitor every referral or third-party destination, and a failure to detect harmful content before it is reported does not amount to approval of that content. Where legally required, ReferTree may preserve relevant records and cooperate with competent authorities pursuant to valid legal process.
14. Assumption of risk and limitation of liability
You use user-submitted links and third-party destinations at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ReferTree is not liable for losses or damage arising from third-party conduct or content, including fraud, phishing, scams, malware, compromised or redirected domains, failed, changed, withheld, reversed or clawed-back referral rewards, account restrictions, suspensions or terminations imposed by third parties, purchases, transfers, investments, crypto-asset losses, loss of credentials, loss of data, or decisions made in reliance on user-submitted information. ReferTree is also not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or purely economic losses where such liability may lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or wilful misconduct by ReferTree, death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot be excluded, or any other liability or mandatory consumer right that applicable law does not permit ReferTree to exclude or limit.
15. Responsibility for your content and claims caused by misuse
You are responsible for the content you submit and for consequences that result from your unlawful use of ReferTree. To the extent permitted by applicable law, if your unlawful content, infringement, fraud, intentional misuse or material breach of these Terms directly causes ReferTree to incur a third-party claim, liability or reasonable cost, you are responsible for that resulting loss to the extent attributable to your conduct. This provision does not make you responsible for losses caused by ReferTree's own acts or omissions and does not limit any mandatory rights available to consumers.
16. Changes, severability, applicable law and contact
ReferTree may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, security practices or applicable law. Material changes will take effect prospectively and, where required, reasonable notice will be provided. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law. These Terms and use of the Service are governed by Spanish law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply in their country of habitual residence. Any dispute will be heard by the courts determined by applicable mandatory law; consumers retain any right to bring proceedings before the competent courts provided by consumer law. Questions, legal notices and reports concerning these Terms may be sent to hello@refertree.io.
17. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms to create or use a ReferTree account. If the law applicable to you requires a higher minimum age, parental or guardian authorization, or any other condition before you may use an online service or enter into these Terms, you must satisfy that requirement. If you are not eligible, you must not create or use an account. ReferTree may request reasonable information to verify eligibility where necessary for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes.
18. Rights in user content and permission to use it
You retain ownership of content you submit to ReferTree. You represent and warrant that you own that content or have all rights, permissions and licenses necessary to submit it and to grant the rights described here, and that its use by ReferTree as permitted by these Terms will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party. By submitting content, you grant ReferTree a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt or format, display, distribute, communicate and otherwise make that content available through the Service, including on public profiles, Explore referrals, search and discovery features, leaderboards, previews, social-sharing cards, recommendations and other ReferTree surfaces. ReferTree may allow its hosting, infrastructure and other service providers to exercise these rights only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve and promote ReferTree. This license is limited to those purposes and does not transfer ownership of your content to ReferTree. It ends when the content is deleted from the active Service, subject to reasonable technical backup periods, legal retention obligations and the other retention provisions in these Terms.
19. Automated access, scraping and data harvesting
Unless expressly authorized by ReferTree, a documented ReferTree interface, or applicable robots.txt instructions, you must not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, scripts, automated browsers or similar means to systematically access, copy, extract, index, harvest, aggregate or republish ReferTree profiles, referral links or codes, user information, rankings, analytics or other Service data; create accounts or perform actions in bulk; bypass rate limits, access controls or technical protections; reverse engineer non-public interfaces; or build or maintain a competing or substitute database from ReferTree content. Legitimate search engines and indexing services may crawl publicly accessible pages where and to the extent permitted by ReferTree's robots.txt and other applicable technical instructions. ReferTree may use reasonable technical measures to detect, rate-limit or block unauthorized automated access.
20. Manipulation of points, rankings and community signals
You must not manipulate or attempt to manipulate points, levels, leaderboards, followers, profile views, clicks, confirmed referrals, Explore visibility, rankings or other trust, popularity or discovery signals. Prohibited conduct includes fake or duplicate accounts, multiple accounts used to boost the same person or evade restrictions, self-generated or purchased traffic, click farms, automated engagement, false confirmations, coordinated manipulation, artificial follows, duplicate or misleading submissions used to gain an advantage, or any other activity intended to create an inaccurate impression of popularity, performance or trust. ReferTree may disregard, reverse, correct or remove affected signals, points, rankings, statistics or benefits where it reasonably believes manipulation has occurred.
21. Enforcement and protective measures
In addition to the moderation powers described above, ReferTree may take reasonable measures to protect users, third parties and the integrity of the Service. These measures may include deactivating unsafe, duplicate, misleading, stale or unauthorized links; removing or correcting manipulated points, levels, rankings, followers, statistics or other signals; limiting features or traffic; reserving, renaming or restricting usernames where reasonably necessary to address impersonation, rights violations, security or operational issues; and suspending or terminating accounts for serious or repeated violations. ReferTree may act without prior notice where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, legal obligations or urgent harm. Where applicable law requires notice, reasons or an opportunity to challenge a decision, ReferTree will provide them in accordance with that law.
22. Account deletion, backups and retained records
When you delete your account, ReferTree removes your public profile and referrals from the active Service. Deletion does not necessarily cause every technical copy or record to disappear immediately. Limited information may remain for a reasonable period in backups, security or abuse-prevention logs, fraud-prevention records, records needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or records that ReferTree is required to retain by law. ReferTree may also retain information that has been irreversibly anonymized or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you. Any retained personal data remains subject to applicable data-protection law and ReferTree's Privacy Policy and will not be kept longer than reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.
23. Affiliate links, sponsored placement and paid promotion
ReferTree may introduce or operate commercial features such as affiliate links, sponsored placements, paid boosts, promoted referrals or other paid visibility. Where a placement, ranking or recommendation is materially influenced by payment, sponsorship or another commercial relationship, or where ReferTree may earn a commission from a link or transaction, ReferTree will identify or disclose that relationship where required by applicable law and in a manner intended to distinguish commercial placement from ordinary user-submitted content. Unless ReferTree expressly states otherwise, user-submitted referrals remain the responsibility of the user who submitted them and their appearance on ReferTree does not constitute an endorsement.
24. Moderation decisions and review
A moderation or enforcement decision is not a guarantee that similar content will always be treated in the same way, and ReferTree may update a decision if new information becomes available. If your content, referral or account is restricted, removed, suspended or terminated, you may contact hello@refertree.io to request a review and provide relevant context or evidence. ReferTree may maintain a decision after review where it reasonably concludes that the measure remains justified. Urgent protective action may be taken before a review is completed. Nothing in this section limits any notice, statement-of-reasons, complaint-handling, out-of-court dispute settlement or other redress rights that applicable law may require.
