Iberdrola Referral 2026: €25–€40 Credit Each for Bringing a Friend

Iberdrola's Spanish Mi Iberdrola loyalty programme lets an eligible customer invite a new electricity customer through a personal contracting link. If the campaign is active and both meet the requirements, each earns €25–€40 in Mi Iberdrola credit over twelve monthly instalments. The exact amount depends on the inviter's loyalty tier. This is not an instant cash bonus, and the invited person must join Mi Iberdrola.

What is Mi Iberdrola and who is the programme for?

Iberdrola is a Spanish electricity and gas supplier. Mi Iberdrola is its free loyalty programme for qualifying household energy customers, offering credit, partner discounts and other benefits. Its bring-a-friend offer is a specific promotion inside that programme, not a universal coupon. A referral must lead to a new eligible contract and the invited customer must also register for Mi Iberdrola through the invitation. The terms say this benefit applies when the referral promotion is active; check the current invitation screen before promising a reward.

How much do the inviter and friend earn?

Both parties earn the same tier-dependent monthly credit for twelve months: €2.09 for basic Mi Iberdrola (approximately €25.08 total), €2.50 for Plata (€30), €2.92 for Oro (€35.04), and €3.34 for Plus (€40.08). Iberdrola's public table rounds these to €25, €30, €35 and €40. The tier is the inviter's tier at the moment the friend signs up, not the friend's tier. Do not confuse these referral credits with the separate one-time €5 loyalty joining credit.

How to invite a friend and avoid losing attribution

  1. 1

    Check your loyalty account

Sign in to Mi Iberdrola and confirm that the bring-a-friend promotion is available for your tier.

  2. 2

    Copy your own invitation link

Use the official invitation or contracting link shown in your account; a generic homepage visit is not equivalent.

  3. 3

Let the friend contract as a new customer

The friend opens that link and signs up for an eligible household electricity contract.

  4. 4

    Join Mi Iberdrola

The invited person must register for the loyalty programme through the referred flow.

  5. 5

Keep contracts active and check credit

Both people monitor monthly credit over twelve months; conditions must remain satisfied for each instalment.

Who qualifies and which signups are excluded?

The inviter must be registered in Mi Iberdrola and keep at least one active electricity contract to receive monthly credit. The invited person must be a new customer, contract through the personal link, qualify for and join Mi Iberdrola, and keep the referred contract active on each payment date. Eligible residential products include electricity 2.0TD and, for natural persons, 3.0TD; the wider loyalty programme also covers household gas RL1–RL3. However, the referral-payment rule specifically requires the inviter's active electricity supply. Public bodies are excluded from Mi Iberdrola, and overdue debts can prevent registration or redemption. A mobility-only Mi Iberdrola GO user is not automatically eligible for the referral credit.

  • No generic code: the personal contracting link is essential.
  • The friend must be a new qualifying customer and join Mi Iberdrola.
  • Inviter needs an active electricity contract for their own monthly reward.
  • An invited contract that becomes inactive can stop future credit.
  • Up to ten invitees; no repeated referral between the same two people.
  • Debt can block use of credit while the expiry clock continues.
  • Credit expires after twelve months; it is not withdrawable cash.
  • The offer is conditional on an active campaign and current terms.

When is credit paid and what happens after cancellation?

The official conditions describe twelve monthly credit instalments, rather than one immediate €40 payment. Each payment depends on active contracts on that date. If the inviter has no active electricity contract, they lose their own referral credit, while the friend can continue to receive theirs if their qualifying contract remains active. If the friend cancels the referred contract, future instalments are at risk. Keep contract confirmation and screenshots of the invitation; contact Iberdrola if an expected instalment does not appear.

How to spend the credit and when it expires

Mi Iberdrola credit can be redeemed through the customer app for electricity or gas bill discounts, eligible gift cards and products, or public EV charging; available options depend on the account. It cannot be withdrawn as cash. Each amount of available credit expires twelve months after it is earned. Unpaid bills can block redemption without pausing expiry. Cancelling all eligible contracts can mean losing available or pending credit. Review the app balance regularly instead of treating the headline €40 as cash in your pocket.

Limits, repeat referrals and competing promotions

A customer can have at most ten invited friends. A person can be an invitee only once per calendar year, and the same pair cannot repeat the referral relationship in either direction. The published conditions also state that Iberdrola promotions for the same concept generally cannot be combined. The October conditions were published for 1 October through 1 November 2026 and provide for automatic renewal if no replacement terms are published; check the current document and the active campaign before contracting.

Is switching electricity supplier worth €25–€40?

Compare the annual electricity price, standing charges, consumption rates, taxes and any optional services before switching. A €25–€40 loyalty credit spread over a year may be outweighed by higher bills. Make sure the friend genuinely needs a new qualifying Iberdrola contract and can keep it active. ReferTree is independent of Iberdrola and does not provide a generic code or guarantee that a referral will be approved.

Does Iberdrola have a referral programme in Spain?+

Yes. The Mi Iberdrola loyalty terms describe a bring-a-friend offer when the campaign is active, and the official rewards page advertises up to €40.

How much does the inviter earn?+

Approximately €25, €30, €35 or €40 in total, depending on their loyalty tier, paid monthly for one year.

Does the invited friend get the same reward?+

Yes. The terms assign the same monthly credit to both people, based on the inviter's tier.

Is the €40 paid immediately?+

No. At Plus level it is €3.34 per month for twelve months, subject to continued eligibility.

Is the reward cash?+

No. It is Mi Iberdrola promotional credit for permitted redemptions, not a bank transfer.

Can I refer ten people?+

The official rules cap the number of invitees at ten per customer.

Can I invite someone who already has Iberdrola?+

The promotion requires a new customer contracting through the personal link; an ordinary tariff change is not equivalent.

Can I refer with only a gas contract?+

The monthly referrer reward requires at least one active electricity contract. Confirm eligibility in your account.

Can someone join using the regular Iberdrola homepage?+

The referral requires the personalised contracting link and Mi Iberdrola registration, so a generic signup may not track.

How long does the credit last?+

Each accrued amount expires twelve months after it becomes available.

What if one person cancels?+

Future monthly rewards depend on active contracts; the inviter's loss of electricity supply can stop their reward while the friend may keep theirs.

What if new rules are published after 1 November?+

The current PDF provides for renewal if no new conditions are published. Always check the latest official terms before contracting.
